This 3D image shows a model of salvinorin A bound to the kappa opioid receptor. The model was created by Dr. Richard Westkaemper at Virginia Commonwealth University, based partly on testing of compounds from my PhD project. I created the image using the extraordinary Pymol, a free molecular visualization program, which I unfortunately forgot to cite in my thesis. This is a cross-eyed stereoview; a labelled parallel stereoview can be found on p. 178 of my thesis, along with a discussion of the model. |
